THIS IS AN A FULLY ONSITE ROLE.
Overview of Position: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Vulnerability Management Intern to support our Cybersecurity team. This role provides exposure to enterprise security operations, vulnerability scanning platforms, and remediation workflows. The intern will work closely with infrastructure administrators, application owners, and users to track remediation tasks, ensure timely resolution of identified vulnerabilities, and strengthen the overall security posture of the organization.
Hourly Pay Range: $20.00-$22.00/hr.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vulnerability Tracking & Coordination
- Assist in monitoring vulnerability management dashboards and reports.
- Track identified vulnerabilities across servers, endpoints, applications, and network devices.
- Follow up with infrastructure administrators and system owners to ensure timely patching or mitigation
- Communicate with IT administrators and business users to clarify remediation requirements and timelines.
- Support scheduling of patch windows and coordinate follow-ups to confirm issue resolution.
- Document and escalate delays or exceptions to Cybersecurity leadership.
- Update ticketing systems ( ServiceNow, Jira) with remediation status and notes.
- Validate completed remediation through re-scans or verification reports.
- Assist with creating metrics and reports for management review.
- Gain hands-on experience with vulnerability management tools (CrowdStrike VOC).
- Learn enterprise patch management processes, change management workflows, and risk-based prioritization.
- Participate in Cybersecurity team meetings, incident reviews, and remediation planning sessions
Education, Licensing, and Certifications:
- 3rd or 4th year of college pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Networking, or Computer Science (or closely related field).
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Able to work 20–40 hours per week during the internship period.
- Must be available to work on-site at Transdev U.S. Headquarters in Lombard, IL.
- Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with patching and system administration processes is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow up consistently.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced enterprise IT environment.
Experience:
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3rd or 4th year of college pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Networking, or Computer Science (or closely related field).
- Able to work 20–40 hours per week during the internship period.
- Must be available to work on-site at Transdev U.S. Headquarters in Lombard, IL.
