This role is ideal for a highly autonomous, technically skilled writer who thrives in creating clear, actionable documentation for developers and security professionals. You will work closely with Product and Engineering teams to produce high-quality resources that guide users in adopting and leveraging software security tools effectively. Your work will include tutorials, API references, and educational content that enhances understanding of software supply chain security, DevOps practices, and cybersecurity compliance. The position offers an opportunity to influence documentation strategy, improve usability, and create content that empowers users globally. You will also experiment with beta features, provide feedback on new products, and help ensure content evolves alongside the platform. This role combines technical expertise with strong communication and research skills in a collaborative, remote-first environment.
- Accountabilities
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to produce accurate and engaging documentation for software security tools.
- Plan and execute a documentation strategy that supports smooth product adoption and user retention.
- Maintain and update existing documentation in response to software changes or feature updates.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure comprehensive topic coverage and avoid content overlap.
- Participate in product initiatives, including feature launches and strategic projects.
- Act as “customer zero” by testing products early, exploring beta features, and providing actionable feedback to improve usability and clarity.
- Assist other teams with technical writing tasks as needed, ensuring alignment with overall content strategy.
- Requirements
- Strong technical background with deep understanding of cloud-native and/or open-source ecosystems.
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: DevOps, software supply chain security, container images, software packages, virtual machines, or cybersecurity compliance and regulations.
- Proven experience writing and communicating complex technical topics to developer and technical audiences.
- Strong research skills and ability to quickly learn new technical concepts.
- Experience working closely with Product and Engineering teams, collaborating across departments.
- Familiarity with GitHub-based docs-as-code workflows and proactive use of AI/automation tools is a plus.
- Ability to leverage usage data to inform documentation strategy and product decisions.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating high-quality technical resources.
