This role is ideal for an experienced security professional with deep technical expertise, a passion for innovation, and a strong engineering mindset. You will design and implement advanced security systems, leveraging automation, AI/ML, and orchestration to detect, prevent, and respond to complex threats. Working in a hybrid environment, you will collaborate with engineering, AppSec, and platform teams to embed security intelligence into infrastructure and development pipelines. The position requires strategic thinking, hands-on development skills, and the ability to mentor and lead across teams. You will have the opportunity to shape the security posture of a high-impact product organization while driving operational efficiency and innovation. This role emphasizes real-world impact, continuous improvement, and building secure systems that scale.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain security tools and platforms integrated with cloud infrastructure and developer environments.
  • Engineer AI/ML-based threat detection, anomaly identification, and automated response systems.
  • Implement secure-by-design systems for identity, access control, and policy enforcement across hybrid cloud environments.
  • Lead the development of internal security platforms, libraries, and automation frameworks to support engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with AppSec, SRE, and Platform Engineering teams to embed security into infrastructure and developer workflows.
  • Drive adoption of threat intelligence, detection-as-code, and continuous automated response practices.
  • Prototype and evaluate novel security techniques, leveraging open-source tools, AI models, and academic research.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance on architecture, risk mitigation, and security best practices.
  • Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in security engineering, building and scaling complex systems or developer tooling.
  • Engineering-first mindset with hands-on experience in cloud-native security platforms (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar languages, with experience developing pipelines, services, and APIs.
  • Familiarity with applying machine learning or data science techniques to security challenges.
  • Strong understanding of systems internals, identity and access management, and network security fundamentals.
  • Experience in DevSecOps, SDLC integration, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, influence, and lead engineering initiatives across teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to design secure systems balancing risk, usability, and operational complexity.
  • Benefits:
  • Competitive annual salary ($240,000 - $257,500).
  • Hybrid work schedule with on-site collaboration Monday-Wednesday.
  • Comprehensive global benefits, including fertility support, family leave, and compassionate paid leave.
  • 26 weeks paid parental leave for primary and secondary caregivers.
  • Unlimited paid time off and company-wide week off.
  • Focus Fridays: no meetings, deadlines, or emails to encourage uninterrupted work.
  • Professional development opportunities and a collaborative, inclusive culture.
