This role is ideal for an experienced security professional with deep technical expertise, a passion for innovation, and a strong engineering mindset. You will design and implement advanced security systems, leveraging automation, AI/ML, and orchestration to detect, prevent, and respond to complex threats. Working in a hybrid environment, you will collaborate with engineering, AppSec, and platform teams to embed security intelligence into infrastructure and development pipelines. The position requires strategic thinking, hands-on development skills, and the ability to mentor and lead across teams. Accountabilities:
- Design, build, and maintain security tools and platforms integrated with cloud infrastructure and developer environments.
- Engineer AI/ML-based threat detection, anomaly identification, and automated response systems.
- Implement secure-by-design systems for identity, access control, and policy enforcement across hybrid cloud environments.
- Lead the development of internal security platforms, libraries, and automation frameworks to support engineering teams.
- Collaborate with AppSec, SRE, and Platform Engineering teams to embed security into infrastructure and developer workflows.
- Drive adoption of threat intelligence, detection-as-code, and continuous automated response practices.
- Prototype and evaluate novel security techniques, leveraging open-source tools, AI models, and academic research.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance on architecture, risk mitigation, and security best practices.
- 10+ years of experience in security engineering, building and scaling complex systems or developer tooling.
- Engineering-first mindset with hands-on experience in cloud-native security platforms (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar languages, with experience developing pipelines, services, and APIs.
- Familiarity with applying machine learning or data science techniques to security challenges.
- Strong understanding of systems internals, identity and access management, and network security fundamentals.
- Experience in DevSecOps, SDLC integration, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, influence, and lead engineering initiatives across teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to design secure systems balancing risk, usability, and operational complexity.
- Competitive annual salary ($240,000 - $257,500).
