This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Gen AI in the United States.

This role is ideal for a highly experienced engineer passionate about building AI-powered applications at scale. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy machine learning models, infrastructure, and internal platforms that enable product innovation. The position focuses on delivering scalable, resilient services that handle massive datasets and high-traffic workloads, while making AI accessible to product teams. You will mentor peers, guide engineering best practices, and help teams incorporate AI safely and responsibly. The role offers the opportunity to work fully remotely in the U.S., contribute to cutting-edge AI projects, and influence the next generation of AI-driven product features.
  • Accountabilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain machine learning infrastructure, tooling, and models for product and internal teams.
  • Enable cross-functional teams to understand data lifecycles, ML patterns, and implementation trade-offs.
  • Build internal platforms and services to integrate AI capabilities into customer-facing features.
  • Develop scalable, resilient services for data integration, event processing, and platform extensions.
  • Guide teams on best practices for model deployment, experimentation, and feature development.
  • Translate product goals into actionable engineering plans and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Write high-quality, testable, and maintainable code while ensuring accountability for deliverables.
  • Mentor and coach engineers within and outside the team, fostering technical excellence.
  • Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in machine learning or AI, preferably with a focus on natural language processing.
  • Experience working with large-scale data (terabytes to billions of records) in production environments.
  • Proven experience deploying ML-driven B2B multi-tenant applications at scale.
  • Proficiency with ML technologies and frameworks (Python, Jupyter, MLFlow, Dagster, KubeFlow, DVC, Triton, LLMs, Postgres).
  • Experience with modern ML techniques including LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and multi-modal models.
  • Understanding of distributed systems and scalable, resilient service design.
  • Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerized systems (Kubernetes, GKE).
  • Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Track record of delivering complex projects and providing technical leadership to multiple stakeholders.
  • Bonus: experience with low-latency NLP/audio models, PHI/PII sensitive data, GitOps, IaC, and open-source ML solutions.
