In this role, you will serve as a senior technical leader driving the secure development of products across the software lifecycle. You will partner with engineering and site reliability teams to embed security principles from design through deployment, ensuring platforms are resilient, cloud-ready, and compliant with industry standards. This position involves influencing architecture, mentoring engineers, and guiding security practices for both traditional and AI/ML systems. You will lead cross-team initiatives to enhance SSDLC processes, automation, and risk management, while balancing security with innovation and delivery speed. Collaboration with product, engineering, and operations teams is essential to integrate security into daily development practices. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will directly strengthen the security posture and resilience of critical systems across the organization.
Accountabilities:
- • Embed security throughout the SSDLC by partnering with Development and SRE teams, including threat modeling, secure design reviews, coding practices, and CI/CD pipeline security.
- • Lead cross-engineering security initiatives, enhancing processes, tooling, and automation across teams.
- • Act as a trusted advisor to engineering leadership and product teams, influencing architecture and long-term security strategy.
- • Design and guide security for AI/ML systems, ensuring data protection, model integrity, and compliance with emerging standards.
- • Define and evolve cloud security architectures and enterprise-wide best practices.
- • Establish secure development standards and provide hands-on support for critical systems.
- • Oversee threat modeling, design, and code reviews to ensure security is integrated by design.
- • Deliver training, mentorship, and awareness programs to strengthen security capabilities organization-wide.
- • Support incident response efforts and drive post-incident improvements.
- • Continuously research emerging technologies and threats to enhance platform resilience.
- • Review and update security policies, architecture principles, and standards to align with evolving risks and business objectives.
Requirements:
- • 6+ years in software development and 5+ years in security, including 3+ years in security architecture or technical leadership.
- • Hands-on engineering experience with secure design, threat modeling, and risk analysis.
- • Proven ability to embed and scale security practices across Dev and SRE teams.
- • Deep knowledge of SSDLC, secure coding, and cloud security (AWS preferred).
- • Experience designing and assessing AI/ML security, including data protection and model integrity.
- • Expertise in threat modeling, risk management, and architecture reviews (STRIDE, PASTA, or equivalent).
- • Familiarity with OWASP, NIST, and CSA frameworks.
- • Strong judgment to balance security, speed, and innovation.
- • Excellent communication and leadership skills; fluent in English.
- • Practical experience with security tools, infrastructure, and cloud-native technologies.
- • Preferred: Experience with FedRAMP-compliant systems, contributions to security community, security testing knowledge, mentoring engineers, and driving security maturity in Agile or DevSecOps environments.
