This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer/Architect (Azure) in the United States.
This role offers the opportunity to design, implement, and secure enterprise-level cloud architectures in a high-impact, mission-driven environment. You will work with Azure-based solutions, hybrid and multi-cloud integrations, and advanced identity and access management systems. The position involves hands-on engineering, strategic architectural planning, and collaboration with cybersecurity and operations teams to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant cloud infrastructure. You will leverage modern tools like Terraform, Bicep, and Azure CLI to automate deployments and maintain governance standards. This role emphasizes technical depth, leadership, and the ability to innovate within complex, regulated environments, contributing directly to mission success.
Accountabilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable Azure cloud architectures aligned with organizational objectives.
- Lead configuration, deployment, and management of Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD, enabling centralized identity, SSO, and RBAC across tenants and subscriptions.
- Integrate multi-cloud identity solutions with AWS Identity Center, Okta, or on-premises Active Directory systems.
- Develop and enforce Azure governance frameworks using Azure Policy, Management Groups, and Blueprints in accordance with Zero Trust and least-privilege principles.
- Architect and secure hybrid connectivity across Azure, AWS, and on-premises networks, ensuring consistent access management.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with relevant standards including DISA STIGs, DoD Cloud Computing SRG, FedRAMP High, and NIST 800-53.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, and CI/CD automation.
Requirements
- TS/SCI clearance required.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (or equivalent) required.
- BS degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or MS degree with 10+ years (additional experience may substitute for degree).
- 5+ years designing and implementing secure Azure solutions in enterprise or government environments.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD, RBAC, and Conditional Access.
- Experience with multi-cloud identity integration (Azure + AWS or GCP).
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Bicep, Azure CLI, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Desired: experience with Zero Trust Architecture, Azure Government, Azure Lighthouse, Azure Arc, Kubernetes (AKS), container security, and advanced certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert.
