This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Open Source Engineer in the Americas.
In this role, you will lead the development and growth of an open source security infrastructure platform, focusing on secrets management, PKI, PAM, and related systems. You will collaborate closely with the engineering leadership to design, build, and maintain core open source components while engaging with a vibrant developer community. This position blends hands-on full-stack engineering with community engagement, ensuring contributions are seamless, scalable, and well-documented. You will act as the bridge between internal teams and external developers, shaping the adoption and growth of open source projects. Your work will directly impact how developers securely manage sensitive data in production at scale, all while contributing to a fast-growing, innovative environment. This is a fully remote role, aligned with Americas time zones.
- Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain core open source components for secrets management, PKI, PAM, and related infrastructure.
- Engage with the open source community by triaging issues, reviewing pull requests, and providing constructive feedback.
- Build and maintain contributor documentation to simplify onboarding and participation.
- Foster community engagement and encourage contributions from developers at all levels.
- Collaborate closely with the CTO and internal engineering teams to align open source initiatives with product goals.
- Ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code while following best practices in TypeScript, Go, and modern full-stack development.
- Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
- Extensive experience with the TypeScript ecosystem.
- Hands-on experience with Go in production, including CLI and Kubernetes development.
- Proven experience contributing to or maintaining open source projects.
- Excellent written and verbal English skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
- Comfortable engaging with developer audiences and providing constructive feedback.
- Based in the Americas or able to consistently work during Americas time zones (US, Canada, or LATAM).
