Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Network Consulting Architect to design and implement advanced network security architectures that strengthen enterprise threat detection and visibility. This role focuses on architecting intrusion detection and prevention capabilities across the network environment, ensuring that monitoring, detection, and response systems integrate effectively with broader security operations. The position plays a key role in defining detection strategies, improving threat identification accuracy, and ensuring network telemetry is captured and analysed efficiently to support security operations.

What you will do:

• Design intrusion detection and prevention system architectures that provide enterprise level threat visibility and monitoring.
• Integrate IDS and IPS platforms with SIEM and SOC environments to strengthen detection and response capabilities.
• Define detection policies, tuning strategies, and processes to reduce false positives and improve alert accuracy.
• Implement network traffic mirroring solutions to ensure security monitoring tools receive relevant network data.
• Design and configure packet broker architectures to manage and distribute network traffic for analysis.
• Determine optimal sensor placement across network environments to maximise detection coverage.
• Collaborate with security operations teams to refine detection logic and improve monitoring effectiveness.
• Support the development and implementation of threat detection signatures and analysis techniques.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of intrusion detection and prevention technologies including Snort, Suricata based systems, Palo Alto Threat Prevention, Cisco Firepower, and Zeek.
• Strong experience in packet analysis, network traffic inspection, and threat detection methodologies.
• Ability to design and implement scalable IDS and IPS architectures within enterprise environments.
• Experience integrating network security monitoring tools with SIEM and SOC platforms.
• Strong understanding of network architecture, traffic flow analysis, and sensor deployment strategies.
• Experience developing and tuning detection signatures to improve security monitoring accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills in complex network security environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with security operations and infrastructure teams.
