L3 Operations Senior Network Engineer
REPORTING TO: Network Service Operations Lead, Environment Testing Europe

OVERALL OBJECTIVES: As part of the IT Infrastructure Support Team for Eurofins Environment Testing Europe, you will join a growing international team to work on maintenance of newly deployed segregated IT User Zones and Application Availability Groups Cloud infrastructure. Your role will be to support daily Network operations tasks and to design & implement new infrastructure or migrate existing networks to the hybrid Eurofins environment. You will collaborate with number of different IT Support and Delivery Teams on daily basis. This role requires deep expertise in cloud networking, firewall administration, and network performance monitoring to ensure a secure, scalable, and highly available network. Open mind and ability to cooperate with multiple individuals in a multicultural environment is essential.

SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENTS:
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure in Azure Cloud, including virtual networks, subnets, VPN gateways, and ExpressRoute configurations as well as Fortinet on-premises environment
- Manage network security policies, firewall rules, VPNs, and user access controls to protect enterprise assets.
- Collaborate with cloud architects, compute and security teams to integrate Azure networking solutions with on-prem Fortinet devices and to troubleshoot network related issues
- Conduct regular network performance monitoring, capacity planning, and incident response.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code templates to streamline network deployment and changes.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex network issues involving Azure and Fortinet environments.
- Ensure compliance with network security best practices, audit controls, and industry standards.
- Document network configurations, operational procedures, and incident resolutions.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and knowledge sharing within the network operations team
- Stay current with Fortinet environment updates, emerging technologies, and industry best practices
REQUIRED SKILLS:
An ideal candidate should have strong experience in all of the below:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (master’s preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise networks, with a focus on Azure Cloud networking and Fortinet devices
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure networking services including Virtual Network (VNet), Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, and Network Security Groups (NSGs)
- Extensive experience configuring and managing Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate), FortiSwitches, and FortiAP wireless access points using FortiManager
- Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and routing concepts
- Proficient in firewall policy creation, VPN setup, and network segmentation
- Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools such as FortiAnalyzer, Azure Monitor, Wireshark, or equivalent
- Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell, or Ansible
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle high-pressure incidents effectively
- Excellent communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to read, understand and create technical documentation
- Very good command of English written and spoken
- Ability to present technical projects on meetings
- Accustomed to using ITSM tools (e.g. BMC Helix)
PREFERRED SKILS:
- Experience with SD-WAN, cloud security best practices, and Zero Trust network architectures
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements related to network security (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA)
- Fortinet NSE certifications (NSE 4 or higher)
- Microsoft Azure certifications, e.g. Azure Network Engineer Associate
