This role provides an exciting opportunity to design and implement state-of-the-art IT, telecommunications, and building security systems for a variety of projects including new construction and major renovations. You will work on multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to ensure solutions are efficient, reliable, and aligned with industry standards. Accountabilities
Serve as a key contributor to project design teams, providing expert guidance on IT, telecommunications, and security systems.
Design customized IT/ICT infrastructure including entrance facilities, telecomm rooms, pathways, structured cabling (copper/fiber), distributed antenna systems, and data center solutions.
Develop and design building security systems including video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and emergency communication technologies.
Advise clients on Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles and best practices.
Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, and documentation using AutoCAD, Revit, and BlueBeam, guiding CAD staff as needed.
Review submittals, shop drawings, and coordinate with architects, contractors, and engineers to ensure quality and compliance.
Conduct site visits and inspections to verify adherence to standards and project requirements.
Stay current with emerging technologies, products, guidelines, and standards relevant to IT and security system design.
Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and maintain high-quality standards.
Requirements
Minimum of five years consulting experience in IT, telecommunications, and building security system design for new construction or major renovations.
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network hardware, and system architecture.
Experience with CPTED principles is desirable.
Proficiency with BlueBeam, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit.
Relevant certifications such as BICSI (RCDD or test-ready; ITS Installer-1/2) or ASIS; additional certifications (OSP, WD, PE) are a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred; equivalent industry experience accepted.
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain a professional attitude under pressure.
Willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight and off-hours as needed.
