We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Security Team Leader to establish and lead a new security function focused on cloud and on-premises infrastructure. In this role, you will design and implement security measures, monitor threats, and ensure compliance with industry standards while mentoring and guiding a team of security professionals. You will collaborate closely with Network and SRE teams to integrate security best practices into infrastructure processes, respond to incidents, and maintain the highest level of operational security. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership experience and thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Accountabilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of security measures for cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
- Identify and remediate vulnerabilities in cloud environments, networks, and operating systems.
- Build and maintain security tools and automation to support infrastructure protection.
- Conduct security reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments of infrastructure components.
- Develop and maintain security guidelines for Network and SRE teams, integrating best practices.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on network and infrastructure security across teams.
- Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
Requirements:
- 5–7 years of experience in network, infrastructure, or cloud security, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of modern cloud architectures and deployment models (VMs, containers, serverless, Kubernetes).
- Solid knowledge of networks, distributed systems, and Linux systems engineering.
- Hands-on experience with network, VPN, and Linux security.
- Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems.
- Experience with security automation and scripting (Python, Bash, Go).
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and hardening Linux/Kubernetes environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Bonus: proficiency in securing AWS, GCP, or Azure environments; threat modeling; Identity Aware Proxies/Bastion hosts; security certifications such as OSCP or CKS.
