Position Summary:
The Information Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining technical security controls to protect an organization’s digital assets, information systems, and data. This role works closely with IT, compliance, and business units to ensure that security best practices are embedded in all aspects of the organization's technology and operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage security solutions such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection, and encryption technologies.
- Monitor security systems and analyze security incidents to identify vulnerabilities, threats, and potential breaches.
- Conduct regular security assessments, penetration tests, and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Respond to security incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and coordinate remediation efforts.
- Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to integrate security into system architectures, application development, and deployment processes (DevSecOps).
- Research and evaluate new security technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance organizational security posture.
- Provide security awareness training to employees and stakeholders.
- Prepare reports and documentation for audits, management, and regulatory compliance.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving security issues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.
- Continuous learning mindset to stay current with emerging threats and technologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 5-7 years of professional experience
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ preferred.
- Proven experience in information security engineering, network security, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, networking protocols, cloud platforms, and security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management platforms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this roles is between $101,000 and $139,000. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including your job-related knowledge/skills, qualifications, experience, and market location.
