About The Role:
Gen3 seeks an Information Security Engineer to support UNICOR’s mission of maintaining the security, confidentiality, and integrity of systems operated by Federal Prison Industries. This technical role has a strong focus on vulnerability management and risk communication. The engineer will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and reporting vulnerabilities across the network environment and effectively communicating risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct vulnerability management activities across enterprise systems.
- Develop and deliver presentations on vulnerability and risk status to system owners and stakeholders.
- Clearly communicate identified risks and recommended mitigation strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Manage and utilize security tools, including SIEM platforms, to perform continuous monitoring and security scanning.
- Maintain documentation of vulnerabilities, remediation progress, and system risk posture.
- Support compliance with RMF and other federal cybersecurity frameworks by maintaining data within CSAM or other approved systems of record.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in information security.
- At least one of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management and reporting processes.
- Experience using CSAM or other RMF-approved systems.
- Proven ability to communicate complex security risks clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with SIEM or other enterprise security tools and performing vulnerability or compliance scans.

Employment Eligibility: Eligible to work for any employer in the United States without requiring sponsorship. Most of our positions require a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder for consideration. Certain positions require at least three (3) of the past five (5) years of residence in the United States.

- A minimum of three (3) out of the past five (5) years of residency in the United States is mandatory.
