The Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) capability within the Risk, Programs and Cyber Practice has an open manager role in the Canberra.
The GRC capability supports clients to achieve risk and compliance objectives in a proactive and sustainable way. We work with clients to de-risk operations, programs and new initiatives through upfront advice, ensuring risk awareness is built in by design. We partner with eGRC technology providers to ensure our clients have access to the latest advances in risk and regulatory technology.
This capability is growing in Canberra to support its largely government client base across portfolios such as defence, health, social services, justice, emergency services and regulatory bodies.
Engagements range from 3-month projects to multi-year transformations, giving you exposure to diverse challenges to drive your career. You’ll be supported by senior leaders, work in collaborative teams of 4–8, and have a dedicated People Lead focused on your development and wellbeing.
Job Description
As a Manager you will:
- Help clients meet their governance, risk, and compliance obligations through practical, forward-looking advice.
- Manage the delivery of GRC engagements across multiple clients
- Manage the design and implementation of risk management frameworks (including work health safety), control environments and assurance activities for organisations, programs, and initiatives.
- Manage compliance reviews, maturity assessments, and risk management advice that strengthen client capabilities and transparency.
- Embed risk-by-design principles into transformation and reform programs.
- Work alongside eGRC technology partners (e.g., ServiceNow, 6clicks, Protecht) to enable clients with modern, technology-enabled risk solutions.
- Support business development and proposal efforts, bringing your subject matter expertise and client experience to the table.
- Develop the skills and capabilities of our junior team members through providing effective on the job training and coaching.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will likely bring:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in governance, risk management, compliance, or assurance – either in government or consulting.
- A bachelor's degree, ideally in accounting, business, legal, risk management, governance, compliance, investigations, evaluation, fraud or audit.
- Strong working knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 31000 and the Commonwealth Risk Management Policy.
- Demonstrated ability to develop risk frameworks and assessments, compliance programs, assurance plans, or control testing frameworks.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with clients and internal teams
- Proven ability to manage the delivery of multiple engagements, managing competing priorities.
- Experience in the implementation of eGRC tools (highly desirable).
