Accountabilities
- Lead a distributed team of engineers, ensuring high-quality execution, strong delivery pace, and ongoing professional development.
- Mentor team members, providing coaching, feedback, and guidance to elevate technical and leadership capabilities.
- Shape the team’s engineering roadmap, driving operational excellence and defining technology strategy.
- Tackle complex architectural challenges, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
- Partner with Product Managers to align team bandwidth, product priorities, and long-term growth plans.
- Drive hiring efforts, team retention, and performance management in collaboration with people and recruiting teams.
- Influence broader engineering decisions by collaborating with peers, leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing, mentoring, and growing geographically distributed engineering teams.
- Strong background in building complex, high-performance distributed applications and solving challenging technical problems.
- Ability to build and support services over time, with high standards for code quality and testing practices.
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals such as concurrency, algorithms, and data structures.
- A user-centric mindset that prioritizes business value and customer experience.
- A leadership style characterized by humility, curiosity, rigor, and a willingness to learn.
- Bonus points for experience in regulatory environments, interest in cryptography or blockchain technologies, familiarity with Go, Rust, TypeScript, or Solidity, or knowledge of optimistic and zero-knowledge systems.
