This role focuses on building and maintaining secure, automated software delivery pipelines in cloud and on-premises environments. You will design, implement, and optimize DevSecOps processes that support complex software development, systems integration, and operational tasks, with a strong emphasis on automation, security, and compliance. Acting as a technical expert, you will collaborate with engineering teams to harden infrastructure, maintain containerized environments, and document solutions for operational and development use. This position requires a balance of hands-on engineering, problem-solving, and strategic thinking, ensuring secure, efficient, and reliable software operations. The role is fully remote and offers exposure to high-impact government and commercial projects, working within a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
Accountabilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and related DevSecOps tools.
- Automate configurations and manage containerized environments using Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, or similar tools.
- Support cloud networking, routing, DNS, TLS, and ingress/egress configuration and management.
- Perform risk assessments and validation of Information Assurance Controls (IACs) in accordance with DoD/NIST guidelines.
- Develop, test, and document system infrastructure, integrations, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and technical writers to create clear, actionable documentation.
- Participate in Agile processes, troubleshooting, and problem resolution to ensure efficient, secure system operations.
Requirements:
- US Citizenship and Active Interim Secret Clearance (or favorable T3 equivalent) required.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience, including at least 3 years in systems/software design, development, integration, DevSecOps, or related IT environments.
- DoD 8570 compliant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+ IAT Level II) or ability to obtain promptly.
- Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration and automation (Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, OpenShift, Fargate).
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps environments.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, risk assessments, and security compliance standards (CNSSI 1253, NIST 800).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with ability to collaborate across teams.
