Our client, the New Zealand High Commission in Fiji, is seeking a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Development Programme Coordinator, based in Suva. This role involves managing and coordinating a range of New Zealand’s development activities, primarily in sectors such as disaster risk management and climate change.
In this dynamic position you’ll ensure the effective delivery of development initiatives and projects aligned with strategic goals, and contribute to policy discussions. You’ll also play a key role supporting and contributing to New Zealand’s planning and response to natural disasters and other emergencies in Fiji and the wider Pacific. Strong relationship and networking skills are important as you will engage regularly with local stakeholders and development partners, and represent New Zealand at meetings.
About You
You hold a relevant tertiary qualification, with postgraduate study being an advantage. You bring proven experience in senior or technical roles within government, NGOs, or development agencies, ideally in the Pacific. You’re results-driven, well-organised, and an excellent communicator with a collaborative operating style.
Additional Requirements & Remuneration
You must be eligible to live and work in Fiji and provide a current police clearance. Remuneration for this role starts at FJD60,000, with appointment in band depending on experience.
