This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer (Trellix) in the United States.
This role offers the opportunity to work on enterprise-level cybersecurity systems supporting a critical federal agency. The Cybersecurity Engineer will contribute to the design, development, and integration of secure information systems, applying advanced security engineering principles to protect sensitive data and infrastructure. You will work closely with a technical team in an agile environment, implementing best practices for information assurance, threat detection, and incident response. This position emphasizes hands-on experience with security tools, custom signature creation, and compliance with DOD cybersecurity standards. Ideal candidates are proactive, analytical, and skilled in both technical problem-solving and stakeholder communication. Occasional travel may be required, and the role offers opportunities to work with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide security engineering support for planning, design, development, testing, and integration of information systems.
  • Analyze information security requirements and apply systematic approaches to solve complex technology and workflow challenges.
  • Integrate electronic processes and methodologies to resolve enterprise system problems.
  • Develop and maintain customized security signatures, including SNORT rules, within the Trellix IPS environment.
  • Support the implementation and operation of cybersecurity tools, including Check Point IPS Blades.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure system functionality and compliance with DOD standards.
  • Participate in security reviews, audits, and risk assessments to proactively mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Requirements:
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant IT and cybersecurity experience.
  • DOD Top Secret Clearance and eligibility for IT I.
  • Relevant certifications meeting DOD 8570/8140 IAT Level III (e.g., CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP) and CND-IS (e.g., SSCP, CEH, CySA+, Cloud+).
  • Hands-on experience with Trellix IPS Manager, Check Point IPS Blades, and SNORT signature creation (minimum 4 years).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systematic thinking skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; additional technical training preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an agile, multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
