What will you be doing!
- Coordinating various security reviews, audits, self-assessments and corrective action plans.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining annual security self-assessments for required CNL(Canadian Nuclear Laboratories) facilities.
- Conducting security field walk-downs at various CNL facilities to ensure the ongoing maintenance and compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Facilitating the conduct of security briefings and awareness sessions for various CNL organizations as requested.
- Acting as a resource to the CNL Investigator to support investigations as required.
- Coordinating and participating in CNSC (Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission) regulatory inspections, performance testing exercises or technical meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- Post-secondary diploma with concentrated studies in a business or security/police related discipline or equivalent in knowledge and related experience.
- Formal training and/or experience developing Harmonized Threat & Risk Assessments (HTRA)
- Training and experience in incorporating Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) concepts are considered assets.
- Professional certifications such as CPP or CNSP considered an asset.
- Experience
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in a business or security/police related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining organizational security documentation is required.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to comprehend and organize information, assess issues and take action within broad organization objectives dealing with a variety of diverse technical, complex organizational and economic challenges.
- Ability to design and implement contingency plans, as appropriate.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and changing work environment.
- Must be willing to travel on an as-required basis and be willing to remain on duty during an emergency.
- Working knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Provincial and Municipal Statutes and CNL’s established encryption program (Entrust).
- Familiarity with Treasury Board of Canada guidelines, Government of Canada Security Policy.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
Working Conditions:
- Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
- May be required to work extended hours as well as travel to various CNL satellite sites on a planned or ad-hoc basis.
