Cloud Security Architect

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Cloud Security Architect in the United States.

This role offers a high-impact opportunity to design, implement, and oversee secure cloud environments across complex enterprise systems. As a Cloud Security Architect, you will lead security architecture initiatives, conduct risk assessments, and implement controls that align with industry standards and compliance requirements. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure secure cloud solutions, provide expert guidance on application security, and translate business requirements into effective security strategies. The role involves staying ahead of emerging threats, mentoring team members, and engaging with senior leadership to influence security decisions. You will play a critical role in protecting enterprise data while enabling agile and innovative cloud operations.

Accountabilities

  • Conduct security assessments using frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and FedRAMP to identify risks and recommend mitigations.
  • Design and implement security controls for cloud environments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Perform risk assessments to identify cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and evaluate compensating controls.
  • Lead cloud security architecture and configuration reviews, including M365 and Azure platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and third parties to enhance security postures and operational resilience.
  • Apply threat modeling frameworks like STRIDE to anticipate and mitigate security risks.
  • Provide guidance on application security best practices, including DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, API security, and SAST/DAST tools.
  • Serve as a point of contact for security consultations and communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Manage multiple workstreams and projects, ensuring timely delivery of secure cloud solutions.
  • Support development and documentation of security policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience conducting security assessments using industry-standard frameworks.
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud technologies, specifically M365 and Azure.
  • 3–5 years of application security experience, including DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, API security, and SAST/DAST tools.
  • 3–5 years of experience with threat modeling (e.g., STRIDE) and risk assessment.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with internal teams and external partners for security reviews.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into secure cloud architectures and solutions.
  • Effective multitasking across multiple workstreams and projects.
  • Strong communication skills for technical discussions with senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred certifications: Microsoft Cloud Security (AZ-500, SC-100/300/400), GPEN, GCFA, GCIH, CCSP, CISSP, CISA.
  • Experience with penetration testing, AI platforms, or data transformation tools is a plus.
  • Prior team leadership or mentoring experience is advantageous.
