The Team
Our Risk, Programs and & Cyber (RPC) capability is a leader in trust-based services to the public sector, we are here to support clients whenever a concern or big decision arises. We support clients to achieve outcomes for communities that are increasingly seeking trusted sources of information around issues like organisational integrity, cyber risk, integrity of data, commitment to sustainability and climate change, as well as the efficiency and effectiveness of transformation programs.
Our collaborative Internal Audit team helps clients to improve business processes and control measures so that executives are confident key risks are being managed and decision making can occur with speed and precision.
The Role
In this role, you will create value by:
- Leading and conducting internal audit engagements, working with public purpose clients, addressing, operational, strategic, compliance and financial risks.
- Developing strategic internal audit plans, leading or performing the fieldwork including internal controls testing and preparing reports.
- Being responsible for working on multiple client engagement teams within the practice.
- Being part of a larger national team as well as a dynamic local team, specialising in internal audit as well as governance, risk and compliance. This will include working across different sectors and providing guidance and coaching to junior team members, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Developing strong client relationships and collaborating with several stakeholders to understand business processes and controls, identify areas of risk as well as opportunities to mitigate risks, improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
- Taking ownership and accountability to deliver, leveraging the broader team as required to ensure success.
- Contributing to the development of Scyne Advisory’s service offerings and internal tools within the wider Risk, Programs and Cyber business.
- Leveraging your advisory skills set to deliver high quality outcomes to clients, through a combination of hands-on delivery, and regular technical leadership and coaching to more junior members of the team.
- Reporting and presenting to senior business stakeholders

Technically, you likely bring to the position:
- Demonstrated internal audit and risk experience, leading the delivery of internal audit engagements or programs, preferably with experience in serving the public sector or in a professional services environment
- Bachelor’s degree and relevant professional certifications (e.g. CIA, RMIA, CISA) are highly desirable.
- Knowledge and understanding of internal control frameworks, risk assessments, risk management and internal audit methodologies.
- Ability to Lead and Manage: you can lead internal audit engagements, including having strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate with client teams and other stakeholders.
- Innovative Problem-Solving: You possess a natural inclination for problem-solving, coupled with a passion for being at the forefront of change, driving the development of innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, preparing written and presenting internal audit and other assurance reports
- Continuous learning mindset, staying informed and abreast of key trends, risks, developments and innovations that may impact our clients, our services or our ways of working.
